DRUG CRIMES

It is critical that you do not plead guilty just to accept probation. Drug convictions can have a disproportionately negative effect on your future. FIREARMS

Even with open carry, you can still be charged with possession of a firearm. Most people are unaware of the changes to Texas Open Carry laws. You must carry the gun in a holster, and there are many places where carrying is prohibited. I have carefully studied the new laws and can help you get the charges reduced, dismissed, or take your case to trial if needed.

DWI

This is one of the most common offenses in Texas, and also one of the most expensive to resolve. The police and prosecutors must follow precise steps outlined in the manuals published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. If these steps are not followed, the case is in serious jeopardy for the state. I have trained in challenging the prosecutor's case every step of the way: from arrest to lab work to evidence handling. 

ELDER ABUSE

The elderly have special protections in Texas. Normally, these offenses are felonies, and most District Attorneys' Offices have specialized prosecutors trained to handle these cases exclusively. An accusation of elder abuse is a significant challenge and must be entrusted to someone experienced in the intricacies of these laws

Once you are found not guilty, the case is dismissed, or you complete your probation, there is one last step to put this nightmare behind you for good: clearing your record. Your criminal record will follow you for life. Depending on your case, you may be able to seal or erase your record. Call me, because these laws are complicated.

BAIL & BOND

Spending time in jail is unpleasant. After your arrest, you will be taken before a magistrate, and a bond will be set. If the bond is excessive, I can help you get it reduced or, in some cases, secure your release without paying a bond. If a bond is required, I can assist you in finding a reputable bond company.
